Results from RESPOND RCT among healthcare workers in Spain published

The results of the RESPOND project’s first Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) have been published in BMJ Mental Health. The RCT was conducted among healthcare workers experiencing psychological distress during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Communities of Madrid and Catalonia.

The stepped-care programme had a robust moderate effect in reducing anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress symptoms, two months after the interventions. The programme is safe and preliminary results suggest that it is potentially scalable.
