RESPOND Final Conference in Barcelona
On May 16th, Fundació de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (SJD), Barcelona, hosted the RESPOND final conference, where project partners gathered to present the culmination of their scientific research efforts. This event marked a significant milestone in the RESPOND project, which has been dedicated to identifying which groups were most at risk for adverse mental health effects due to the COVID-19 pandemic, examining whether mental health was included in the policy responses, and implementing and adapting cost-effective programmes developed by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The conference featured comprehensive presentations of the final scientific results from the RESPOND project. Researchers shared their findings, highlighting the effectiveness of various interventions and the critical insights gained through their studies. These results are expected to inform future strategies and policies to improve health system preparedness in the event of a future pandemic.
In addition to the presentations, the conference included an engaging panel discussion. This panel brought together a diverse group of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the implications of the research findings in greater depth. The discussion provided a platform for an exchange of ideas and experiences, with a focus on translating research into practical recommendations and actionable strategies.
